The recently appointed Zimbabwe Tourism Authority board takes office at an exciting period for the tourism industry and is expected to appoint a new chief executive officer for the regulator.
The new CEO will replace Winnie Muchanyuka, who resigned two years ago.
“These board members bring an immense experience and expertise that will be invaluable in providing strategic guidance and robust oversight to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, to further its mandate of ensuring that the institution strengthens its promotion strategies for the Destination Zimbabwe and enhance service delivery across the sector through regulatory frameworks and practices that supports the industry and add value to our tourists,” Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi said during the unveiling of the board.
The new board is led by seasoned hotelier Farai Chimba.
Zimbabwe was named the world’s best country to visit for 2025 by Forbes Magazine and was this month part of American online video streamer IshowSpeed’s Africa tour, which generated millions of viewers.
